This year at the Kent County Showground we held a competition for exhibitors to win Trade Stand Space for this years Show. The winner could either a 6m by 6m space, worth £727.20 plus 9 entry tickets, or a larger 12m x 12m space, worth £1,800 with an additional 25 entry tickets, this competition was open to all businesses within the borders of Kent who have not exhibited at the Kent County Show before. We asked entrants to send an image of their product if selling, or a description of the basis for the stand and a website address. This year the competition was won by Sunnyhill Glamping!
Sunnyhill is a local Glamping Site in Kent. They opened last year, and they have 3 bell tents all kitted out with double beds, carpets, furniture, and rugs. They also have 2 beautiful gypsy wagons, one a traditional bowtop and another wooden wagon. The camping site is meant to create a nostalgic, quirky and luxurious atmosphere and they strive themselves on their experience being “sleeping under canvas but with hotel facilities”. The campsite includes watering can shower heads, whisky barrel sink, canvas bell tents and reclaimed kitchen units, WWI wagons, vintage plough and vintage mix & match china to show people that despite its modern facilities they do also have traditional ideas. They also like to focus on the idea that if children are camping there then they should have the facilities to be able to have access to traditional games and the space to make their own secret dens. They believe that after seeing their children grow up and move towards technology and mobile phones, they should give children the facilities to play rather than playing on a screen.
This year they will have a Trade Stand for the forthcoming Show in a prime location on the Main Avenue. If you’re interested in a Glamping experience then go and see them at the show this year to find out more details or visit http://www.sunnyhillglamping.com/ for more details
