Each year following the Show the office team, stewards, volunteers and Board get together to see how we can make the next year even better. Our wonderful Stewards spend part of their time chatting to our visitors and seeing what they like and what could change? It has to be said that as the years go on we have had some amazing feedback from visitors, not only in person to our volunteers but through our social media. One of the areas, based on your feedback, that the team are changing for 2018 is the Country, Game and Canine Area. The Traditional Funfair is moving up to the area from the Main Gate and the hilarious, fabulous Sheep Show is going to take centre stage next to the MAD Canine Agility area and the K9 Aqua Sports.
The Sheep Show has been at the Kent County Show for nearly 20 years and visitors come back year after year just to sit and watch this unique and fascinating display. The New Zealand style team of presenters educate and entertain the audience with their quick wit. But it is the sheep themselves that are most definitely the stars of the show. ‘Nobby’ the Norfolk Horn stands centre stage while others are introduced to their podiums. The audience whether young or old can learn about each breed and how wool from the sheep’s back becomes a jumper to wear. The shearing demonstration is well commentated and has the audience captivated.
The 30 minute show is cleverly devised and is highly entertaining and extremely informative, a rare combination. The highlight of the show is the “The Sheep Show Hustle . Dancing sheep!! You can see the display on all three Show days at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 3.30pm. Don’t forget to share your picks of the sheep antics on social media and tag us #KentShow18.
