The Kent County Show is this year celebrating its 90th Show.  Each and every one of the past Shows had animals, and this was the main reason that visitors came and still do today.  We have over thousand animals competing in competitions throughout the Show, as well as the animals that take part in the ring displays.

Wandering round or watching a display is great but what if you want to pet one of the animals?

Many of our areas will bring out specific animals that are human friendly and certainly the livestock in the brilliant Young Farmers area is full to the brim with farm animals who behave more like domestic pets due to the attention and training given to them by the young handlers.

But… if you really want to see some cute animals that welcome the limelight then look no further than the Surry Docks Farm, mobile farm!  They will be a the Show on all three days and welcome all visitors but especially our youngsters who can ask the team questions about farming, where food comes from and pet a few of the cuties they will be bringing.

The core remit of the Mobile Farm is one of education. Teaching people about animals, how to care for them and where our food comes from. The mobile farm is a valuable tool in helping to connect the wider community with farming in a modern world.
