Long Service Award
Awards to Agricultural workers for long service.
Nominations are restricted to employees of current members of the Kent County Agricultural Society and open to employees of farmers and land owners who have completed a minimum of 25 years’ service without intermission (war service excepted) on the same farm/estate or under the same employer (employee does not have to be a member of the Society).
If you would like to nominate an employee who meets the criteria you can download the attachment and must be returned to the Show office no later than Friday 25th May 2012 to:

A Long Service Certificate, an engraved tankard / goblet and £50 will be awarded to each employee eligible for this award. Prize winners at 2002 – 2011 Shows are not eligible for awards this year.

Hooson Award
A bursary for young people hoping to make a career in Agriculture, horticulture or rural industry within Kent. The £500 award is intended to assist the successful student to pay for their studies.
To qualify you should be living in Kent, age under 21 and either in further education or planning to enrol for an agricultural qualification or apprenticeship.
To apply, candidates should complete an application form which will be available to download from the website soon.
We will require a written submission with the application covering some aspect of rural life in Kent. The project should be in A4 format and submitted in hard copy or by email. Projects will be judged by the Society and applicants may be required to attend an interview.
Applications must be received by July 31st 2012.

Irene Lady Astor Award
An award of £150 for the ‘Best Kent Young Farmer’ for the year.
Nominations should be made in writing or by email by YFC leaders with reasons for nomination on the application form. Forms will be available to download shortly.
To qualify nominees must be paid up members of a Kent Young Farmers Club.
Applications must be received by October 30th 2012
The £150 award will be presented at the YFC AGM in November 2012.
