What are the dates of the 2010 Kent County Show?
Friday 16th, Saturday 17th & Sunday 18th July 2010.
What are the opening times?
8am to 6pm Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
Are there facilities and parking for disabled people?
Yes, there is parking for the disabled which will be clearly signposted. There is also a designated disabled car park, which you will be directed to from the Main Gate (A249). There are concrete roads to facilitate wheelchairs. Wheelchairs will be available for hire from Safehands Mobility Tel:01303 274500 and Mobility Centre Tel: 01843 848208. There are disabled toilets at various points on the Showground.
Can I bring my dog?
Well behaved dogs are allowed, but must be kept on a short lead (Dogs are unfortunately not permitted inside the Kent Pavilion and any marquee which contains food). No dogs are allowed in the cattle building, sheep lines nor the goat marquee.
What age do I have to be to qualify for Senior Citizens rates?
Aged 60 for both men and women.
How much are the rates for car parking?
Car Parking is free.
Where is the Showground exactly?
On the A249 at the top of Detling Hill between junction 7 of the M20 and junction 5 of the M2.
Is there a reduction for afternoon/evening entry?
No.
Where is the nearest railway station/bus station?
Maidstone East. A shuttle bus will run from the station to the Showground via Somerfield in King Street, Maidstone, at half hourly intervals commencing at 8.30am. The last shuttle leaves the Showground at 6 pm. The Arriva service’s 333 also runs at hourly intervals from the Bus Station in Maidstone past the Showground.
Are there any baby changing and feeding facilities?
These brand new units may be found opposite the St John Ambulance Headquarters in the centre of the Showground.
Are there any camping and caravan sites on the Showground?
Yes, there are both caravan and camping facilities adjacent to the Showground, bookable in advance.
Are there any cash points available on Show days?
Yes, there are cash machines in the centre of the Showground behind Alan Day House.
Can we bring a picnic?
Yes, you are welcome to bring a picnic lunch. You can sit in the shade by the pond in Murrain Wood, next to the bandstand or if you prefer by the ringside. In addition, there is a great choice of food on sale at the various catering points and there is a public restaurant opposite the cattle building. There are also bars of various types around the Showground, including cider, real ale and milk. The new Village Green would be an ideal place to enjoy a picnic lunch.
