With just four more days until the gates open for the 2014 Kent County Show, the Showground is filling up nicely. It may take a whole year to plan a Show but it only takes a couple of weeks to build it on the site. Believe it or not but it takes just two days to clear it all away. Young Farmers are on site sorting out the huge marquees to house all their wonderful livestock.
If you have limited time on your visit please do go and see the YFC area right next to the main gate. They are truly amazing, young people who get up each show day at 5am to feed and prepare their animals, which by the way are immaculately turned out.
Elese where the Show Gardens are being built, the Traditional Fairground is arriving and most importantly the large Marquees are all up and the Grandstand seating for the Astor Ring is in place.
The flags are flying outside the Show Office and the electricians are busy making sure that everyone has power on the day. The Showground is coming to life ready for the tens of thousands of visitors who will share the experience over the weekend.
